rudeness is afoot at cantos books

about 4 years ago, cantos books was sold. the woman who now owns it is unfortunately very rude. she is insulting and physically removes books from customers' hands if the customer opens the book. there is no browsing allowed in the store. opening a book makes it 'look used'. the selling is very high pressure and one cannot help but overhear the terribly rude remarks the woman makes regarding other customers who ask questions or leave the store. it would be one thing if maybe she kept all the books sealed in plastic to avoid browsing but her abusive, condescending treatment of customers is another thing entirely. she must be the most unhappy person on earth. don't let her spread her poison on to you. please, find a bookstore where are you treated with dignity and respect.

This store has a great selection of older novels. Its location downtown is also very unique. The prices in the store are relatively inexpensive as well. The staff is also very friendly and very helpful with what i was looking for. They also carry a good list of new books as well. I recommend anyone looking for a good book to check this place out.
